Indigo is running, she has no other choice. She's done something bad, and there only way to escape it, is to flee her home, and her country. She sets out on a luxury Yacht, to take her to another country with her best friend Eric. But she runs into a problem. The Yacht catches fire. She ends up stranded in the ocean, terrified, and scared of the uncertain. Until they show up. The pirates. Terrified, Indigo and Eric have to face the reality that this might be the end for them. These are pirates, they are the criminals of the ocean. What chance have they got of surviving this nightmare? Then she lays eyes on Hendrix. He's the Captain, he's gorgeous, rugged, and mean. He's planning on keeping her to repay his debt to another man, by selling her. Now Indigo has a crazy ex after her, as well as a pirate she can't seem to get out of her head. Come on this heart wrenching, dark, angsty and dangerous adventure as two people so opposite, find something so beautiful.
“Stand up, this will be easier if you do,” he orders. He stands, taking me with him, and I lose my balance when I accidentally try to lift the wrong foot. Hendrix reaches out, taking my shoulder and goes to take a step forward to steady me, only to realize he’s wrapped the rope around his ankle, and is now tangled too. As if in slow motion, we topple backwards. I scream, and land with a thump on the ground as the ropes surround me. Hendrix lands over me, but manages to put his hand down to stop me taking the force of his body. He’s pressing into me in places he really shouldn’t be. “Fuck,” he curses, tugging his hand to try and untangle it. “How the hell did you get tangled too?” I cry out, squirming. “Stop fuckin’ squirming like that,” he orders, and I stop as soon as I realize why he’s asked me to. He’s hard. My God, he’s hard. “You’re…you’re…” “I’m fuckin’ hard because you’re squirming against me. I’m a man. Get over it.”

Badass Book Babe Review (Ami):
I admit.  I was a little apprehensive about reading a pirate book, but I am so glad that I did.  It wasn't anything like I had imagined.  There was no pirate jargon - well, except for when Indigo mocks Hendrix and his crew.  This was just a good story about a screwed up girl named Indigo and a pirate named Hendrix.  Indigo and Hendrix meet after the yacht Indigo is traveling on explodes, leaving her and her friend Eric stranded at pirate waters.  After two days of being stranded, they spot a ship headed toward them, but it is a pirate ship.  Indigo and Eric must do what they can to survive....but what happens when you fall in love with your captor who is planning to sell you as a sex slave?  Hendrix is amazingly hot....and the sex scenes are scorching.  I started out disliking Hendrix, but after a while I fell for him too.  The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, not too bad just sets the stage for the characters in book two.  There are two surprise guests at the end of the book that will make ou have an "OMG" moment.  But...I refuse to post spoilers or it will ruin it for you.   All in all, this was a great story that reminded me of Bella's MC series...just set on a ship at sea.  If you liked her MC series, then this one won't disappoint!

One Wild Night Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Part 1 in the FOREVER WILD series
Goodreads link:

One wild night can change everything.

Valerie Wilder doesn’t do serious relationships. She also doesn’t usually wake up in Vegas next to a male stripper…

A male stripper who happens to be her new husband.

A quickie divorce seems like the answer, but the Nevada legal system doesn’t think so.  When her new husband suggests flying back to Chicago with Valerie she accepts, wondering if one night in Vegas could turn into something much more.

Badass Book Babe Review (Ami):

Normally I avoid short periodicals like the plague and did not realize this was one. Having said that, I was pleasantly suprised to actually like the story! It had funny elements and the main characters were enjoyable. There wasn't a real cliffhanger ending which was nice, but it does leave you wondering how things will play out between Valerie and Mr. Rock Hard Abs of Vegas. This story has some serious potential, and I am interested to see how it progresses. The only thing I didn't like was the length. So if you are a fan of short reads that will give you something to do on your lunch hour, then snatch this puppy up! Happy reading!

I am not a good man.
I have lied and cheated and stolen. I've decided between life or death, like it was my due. None of it matters, not anymore. These are not my sins.
I see her raise her hands, the dark metal she's clutching reflecting the moonlight. Her finger trembles as she cocks the gun pointed at me. Her eyes are cold, determined, but I know.
I know her.
My name is Devon Andre and I confess my sin. I am not a good man because this is the woman I love.
She pulls the trigger.
* Standalone contemporary romance. * Mature reader advised due to sexual content and strong language.

Vendetta Teaser 3

“Fuck,” he curses, taking in the weapon. I squeeze it in my hand and try to swing again, letting him know I won’t give it up. “You’re going to hurt yourself.” He pries the shard out of my clenching fingers, and then puts his hand around my neck, squeezing. Warning. “You move, and I’ll fucking kill you,” he growls, strengthening his grip. I let my body go limp. He looks at his hand around my throat, and then his eyes find mine. I try to swallow, but he's practically suffocating me. He snatches his hand away and I gasp for air. “I didn’t even think of the fucking mirror,” he mutters to himself, sounding shocked, and maybe even a little impressed. He pulls out some rope from his back pocket. His fucking pocket. The man is psychotic.

Beautiful Failure Blog Tour Giveaway!

Title: Beautiful Failure

Author: Mariah Cole

Genre: New Adult Romance

Hosted by: Mary Elizabeth’s Crazy Book Obsession

If you're looking for a heartwarming story about a girl who falls deeply in love with a troubled boy who changes her life--a sob story with pretty metaphors and a million ways that'll tell you how "broken" she is, STOP. Don't read another word of this.

I'm not that type of girl.

My name is Emerald Anderson and I'm not going to bullshit you: I flunked out of college after my sophomore year, I've been fired from every job I've ever taken, and I've never had a fully functioning relationship in my life.

I wish I could say that I had a cheerleader in my corner, someone who says, "No, Emerald--You're great and you are good at something!" but I don't. My grandparents are completely oblivious to my life, and my mother's dying words to me were "You're going to end up just like me one day. A beautiful nothing."

She was right.

As I decide to start my life over and take two jobs that will forever change me--one from the inside, and one from the outside, I keep my mother's words close to my heart so I can keep the sexy and mysterious Carter Black away.

He's the first man who's ever pursued me, the first man who seems bent on finding out why I am the way I am, but he's wasting his time.

I'm not broken. I don't need to be fixed. I'm perfectly fine being a beautiful failure...

Beautiful Failure Excerpt:

"My life is a fucking mess. A. Fucking. Mess.
I’m currently parked outside of Gina & Laney’s Diner, smoking a cigarette with my windows up. I’m looking over the check they gave me minutes ago and wondering if this is really my life or a sad depressing dream.
This is the last check I’ll receive since they fired me last Friday. They said they were tired of me showing up late and telling customers to “make up [their] goddamn mind” whenever they asked for my opinion about items on the menu.
My pay for two full weeks of work? Two hundred dollars and thirty one cents. No tips.
It’s the eighth job I’ve had in almost a year, and I’m beginning to wonder if I’m cut out for employment at all: I lost my bagger job at the grocery store after one week, my stint as a cashier ended in a shouting match with the manager, and I didn’t last longer than an hour at the manure plant.
All I do whenever I work is incessantly daydream about fictional characters, wishing I could find the time and space to write them all down. I’m always lost in some type of fantasy, some other life that’s more fulfilling than mine.
Sighing, I suddenly notice that streaks of lightning are dancing across the sky and raindrops are attacking my windshield—reminding me that I have twenty minutes to get to my latest job interview.
It’s at the Westin—the nicest hotel on this side of the South; the one place that puts Blythe, Alabama on the map. Even though I’ve been repeatedly warned about how strict their rules are and how they have a high turnover rate, I’m determined to land and keep this job.
I have to. "

Special POV Scene (Carter's POV):

"Walking inside of Starbucks, I expect to see the familiar bubbly blonde behind the counter, the one who never bothers to ask what I want to order. She always greets me with a “Hello, Mr. Black! I’ll have your grande coffee with two hazel nut shots right away!”
But today, there’s someone new. Someone with black hair who hasn’t even bothered to look up at me.
With her head down, she types a few buttons on the register and sighs. “Starbucks Bistro. What’s your name and what do you want?”
“Is that the new greeting now?” I smile. “Did it change recently?”
“They don’t pay me enough to make conversation,” she says flatly. “What’s your name and what do you want—Please?”
This is a first…  “Carter…Carter Black. Grande coffee with a hazelnut shot and two sugars.”
She writes on the cup and quickly turns around, mixing the drink on the back counter. From behind, I notice a small grey and black tattoo on her neck, partially hidden by her long ponytail.
What is that?
I’m admiring her ass when she suddenly turns around and gasps.
She blinks, staring at me with her lips slightly parted. She looks as if she’s about to say something, but no words come out of her mouth.
Her mouth. Her fucking mouth.
Plump, pink lips. Bow shaped. Perfection.
“Are you going to give me my coffee?” I look into her dark green eyes. “Or do they not pay you enough to do that either?”
“Three dollars and seven cents.”
I keep my eyes locked on hers as I hand her the card, wondering why I’ve never seen her in town before.
Once she hands me my coffee, I decide to ask why. “When did you start here?”
Thank you for visiting Starbucks.” She rolls her eyes. “Have a nice day.”
I smile and bring the cup to my lips, never taking my eyes off hers. I can tell I’m making her uncomfortable because she’s shifting her weight from foot to foot and blinking every few seconds.
“Is there something wrong with your coffee sir?” She purses her lips.
The coffee is actually the best it’s ever been, but I don’t want to leave the store just yet.
“It’s a bit bitter,” I say.
No, it’s not.” She crosses her arms. “I just made it.”
“I’m pretty sure it is.” I hand the cup back to her. “Can you add some more sugar please?”
“There’s a condiment stand on the back wall. You can add it yourself.”
Is she serious?
I look at her nametag—Emerald, and prepare to really have some fun with her, but the familiar blonde suddenly steps next to her.
“Mr. Black, is there something wrong?” she asks.
“Not at all. I was just asking Emerald if she would add some more sugar to my coffee.”
“Oh! I got it!”
As she remakes it, I smile at Emerald—ignoring the fact that she’s scowling at me. It makes her look even sexier.
“There you are.” The blonde smiles as she hands me the new coffee.
I take a sip of it and immediately regret having it remade. It’s good, but what Emerald made was ten times better.
“Much better.” I look at Emerald one last time, deciding that I’ll be back at the exact same time tomorrow. “Thank you ladies.”
Emerald rolls her eyes and mouths “Asshole,” but she quickly forces a smile. I debate whether I should ask her to say that out loud, but I decide against it.

I’ll have plenty of time to see her this summer…"

An independent woman, a controlling man, and one wild one-night stand… Kat Kennedy moved to the rugged coast of Maine to start a new life, but encountered much more than she bargained for in dark, dangerous, and seductive Lane Wild. Desire and temptation smolder before she succumbs to her darkest fantasies with the captivating stranger. She doesn't expect to see him again after an explosive one-night stand leaves her breathless and craving more, but just like lightning in the darkness, he shows up in her life at the most unpredictable moments. They have the perfect non-relationship—passion-fueled nights with no strings attached—until life gets real and the past and present collide in a dangerous storm of lust and obsession.

Badass Book Babe Review (Ami):
Wow.  Okay, this book was scorching hot from page one until the end.  It wasn't just all sex, there was a great story line, great plot twists, and no cliffhanger ending!  Lane (or Wild as everyone calls him) is a local in Maine, he has grown up in the town and is quite the ladies man...but all the ladies know, he is a one night deal and not into relationships.  Then there is Kat.  A confident, sexy, sassy woman who gives Lane a run for his money.  She is new to town and ends up having a one night stand with Lane. Problem is, one night turns into two, two turns into three and etc.  Before you know it, they are encroaching in relationship status and that sends both of them panicking.  Lane thinks he might be able to try the relationship thing for Kat, but Kat fights him at every turn.  It is clear she is hiding something, but no one knows what.  Great read, especially for only 0.99! The 0.99 sale ends on December 22nd, so snag it while you can! Happy reading!

Desperate to keep him...

I've finally gotten everything I ever wanted: love, freedom, happiness, and, most importantly, Finn. Our love is everything I expected it to be and more. We've finally found each other, but the world seems determined to tear us apart. We thought my father was the only obstacle between us, but now it's the military. With Finn’s departure looming, we’re squeezing in every moment together before we run out of time.

Trying to make every moment count…

Being Carrie’s bodyguard was one thing. Being her boyfriend is another. Every day she’s mine is a day the sun shines in my life. Yet our time together is running out. Her father will never think a tattooed Marine will be good enough, so I’ll do whatever it takes to be worthy of her love. But the road will take me away from the girl who makes me feel alive--the girl I can't live without.

Time only gets us so far...

Displaying OOT_Sale2-2.jpg

Where do I start??  Let's see - I loved Finn.....but Carrie drove my crazy.  I have never been able to relate to a spoiled-brat who allows her parents to control her life.  I constantly hollered at Carrie in my head to grow up!
Finn is Carrie's bodyguard and he screwed up by falling in love with her.  The only obstacle in their happily ever after is that they both know her family will never approve of their relationship.  After all, he is an enlisted US Marine with not much to show for himself, and she is the daughter of a US Senator who could possibly be a presidential candidate.  Everything in Carrie's life has been based on what is best for her father's campaign - she even missed her graduation because she was on the campaign trail with her father.  Carrie and Finn both know that in order to make his family approve of their relationship, it will require Finn to do something drastic.  An opportunity presents itself that offers Finn a chance to get what he officer position in the Marines which will help sway Carrie's family.  The only problem, is this opportunity sends him away from Carrie and directly in harm's way.  This story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.....but nothing too bad.  There was just enough closure to not make me throw my kindle. :)

Play List for Out of Time:

  1. Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. I loved to play this on the emotional parts of the book, because that song just brings out ALL THE FEELS in me.

  1. Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. I think, again, that this covers the emotional side of the book quite accurately.

  1. Love Story by Taylor Swift. I really think this explanatory, but Finn and Carrie really ARE a love story! I love them so freaking much. LOL

  1. She Will Be Loved by Maroon Five. This one is just because it’s so FINN. He’s that guy that would do all those things and more for the woman he loved. AKA Carrie.

  1. Please Don’t Leave Me by Pink. I think this sums up Finn’s feelings throughout the book. He’s so sure he has to fix everything when Carrie doesn’t think anything is wrong in the first place. Which leads to this last one…

  1. Just Give Me a Reason by Pink and Nate Ruess. In the song, Pink is so sure that there is something wrong, and Nate doesn’t think there is at first. Then he starts thinking there is, too, and he’s trying to comfort her at the same time. It’s just like Carrie and Finn.
